Multiple logs are floating in there; you have to jump on them to cross the river. Find the right time to jump into them, or else your chicken will drown in the water. There are plenty of chickens you need to cross. The chickens are all standing together in a group. To understand who is going to pass, check for the yellow arrow pointing at the top of a chicken's head.
Your score depends on the number of chickens you could cross successfully. Look for the pink feathers often appearing on the road. Collect them to have a speed boost for a few seconds.
